Get To Know Melissa:
Melissa grew up sharing a passion of photography with her grandfather who was always snapping away when she was a kid. After being gifted her first camera, Melissa started taking pictures of just about everything and began learning what makes a beautiful photograph. While still in college, Melissa started her company, Melissa Kelly Photography. After almost 10 years in the business, Melissa considers herself a “boutique” photographer because no two photo shoots or wedding albums will be the same.
One of Melissa’s favorite benefits of being a professional photographer is not only being a part of her clients’ biggest moments, but the friendships she gains from each experience. “I am invited into people’s lives on the most important days a wedding, a new baby, or another milestone event it’s very intimate and personal, and I love getting to know and capture these special moments for them.”
Tips From The Professional:
•The best time for natural light photography is during “golden hour,” the two hours after sunrise or before sunset.
•Don’t let the thought of clouds ruin your shoot. Overcast days provide fabulous lighting since clouds are natural diffusers for the harsh light of the sun, creating even lighting in pictures.
•Don’t just keep your photos on your cellphone or camera, make the effort to print and frame
your photographs or put them in a photo album so you have something tangible to see instead of
“saving” them in the “Cloud”. Albums will never go out of style and become family heirlooms for future generations.
